The educational requirements for becoming a nurse-midwife consists of achieving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam, which makes you a registered nurse. A Master of Science or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree is needed if you want to acquire certifications and become a nurse-midwife. To become certified, taking the certification and passing it, which is through the American Midwifery Certification Board, is needed.
